Media Advisory: Handover of tools of trade to local smme’s

KwaDukuza mayor Lindile Nhaca will on Tuesday, 28 November 2023, handover tools of trade to local small business worth an amount of R1,5 million through the Mayoral Local Economic Development (LED) Start-up Programme.

A total of thirty (30) small micro-medium enterprises (smme’s) including co-operatives will be benefiting in the 2023 edition of the programme. The amount allocated to each enterprise will not exceed R50 000.00.

KwaDukuza entered a partnership with the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism which is part of the provincial economic recovery intervention to create additional new jobs in the following sectors:
 
·      Agriculture/Agri-business
·      Welding/steel works
·      Clothing and Textile
·      Recycle and Re-use businesses   
·      Construction & Maintenance
·      Technology and Innovation
·      Tourism
·      Upholstery & Leather industries.
·      Creative industries/Craft Business
·      Manufacturing
·      Food /Hospitality
·      Logistics

Mayor Nhaca will also announce a Driverʼs Licence programme that will benefit sixty local people. Members of media are invited to report on the event.
