KwaDukuza mayor deepening relations with traditional leaders
KwaDukuza mayor Lindile Nhaca has received overwhelming praise and appreciation from KwaNodunga traditional community in Ward 27, after delivering a cow as a token of appreciation to Inkosi Nkanyiso Zulu.
The mayor is acting in response to the call by the president for government leaders to deepen relations with traditional authorities.
The offering (Isethulo) will form part of the annual traditional initiation for the Zulu royal celebration, Umkhosi weLembe to be hosted by KwaDukuza Municipality on Heritage Day.
Addressing jovial villagers at KwaNodunga Traditional Council today, mayor Nhaca expressed her commitment to work with Amakhosi and underlined two cultural events that will be led by His Majesty, King Misuzulu KaZwelithini this month, “As KwaDukuza Municipality, we heed the call from the president as he continues to encourage us to deepen our ties with traditional communities. Without a doubt, we appreciate the support from local traditional leaders in preparing our maidens for the reed dance celebration and the support you offer in preparing for the Kings arrival to KwaDukuza on heritage day. We are equally in pursuit of building lasting relations with traditional leaders in the interest of restoring dignity, and for the realisation of the ambitions, dreams and aspirations of our people.
