Learn how the mayor of KwaDukuza mayor is improving relations with key stakeholders for inclusive growth

KwaDukuza mayor Muzi Ngidi is receiving a refreshed mandate across all categories of staff, rank and file within the municipality for inclusive growth and efficiency in delivering services.

This is part of his 100 Days in office campaign which kick-started a day after his election as mayor - where he has committed to recalibrate relations with key municipal structures, including the municipal management, labor unions and workers. He is also using this opportunity to outline his vision for the future together with other office bearers under the theme, "100 Days in Office, United, doing more!"

In his back-to-back engagements, Ngidi has been re-emphasising unity as a major touchpoint for the long term success of the municipality.

“We have been given a responsibility to unite council including other strategic role-players. We need to steer this ship back to the seas. We need each other, we know the task at hand - which is to change the lives of the people and to ensure that basic services are delivered to the people. So I plead with you."

In the upcoming weeks, Ngidi will also be meeting with external stakeholders including ratepayers, municipal employees, traditional leaders, faith based organisations, the business community, vulnerable groups, the media and other strategic players within the service delivery value chain.

On Thursday, Ngidi met with the municipal management to present his vision and on this cordial engagement, he heard key challenges and successes of all line and support departments. He lobbied for the acceleration of services to communities by strengthening municipal governance and promoting sound financial management.
