The investments were announced by the KwaZulu-Natal Premier earlier today, 23 October 2025, at Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Center in Durban. The following investment portfolios were pledged for KwaDukuza alone:

1. Zimbali lakes = R1,2 billion

2. Digititan Holdings R1,7 billion (New investment)

3. Club Med R500 million

4. Collins residential R11,6 billion

5. Alleyroads Holdings R1,5 billion

6. New Salt Rock City R10 billion

Gumede expressed confidence, saying that the investments will lead to significant economic spin-offs and job creation.

“This announcement underlines our position as one of the most attractive investment destinations in the province of KwaZulu-Natal. We remain steadfast of our growth in the knowledge that our economy continues to thrive despite global challenges. Accordingly, these commitments will translate to decent jobs and help grow our economy. The KwaZulu-Natal Investment Conference chapter is an historic vote of confidence which is aligned with our investor retention and expansion approach. The conference has not only affirmed that we are a leading investor destination but one amongst the most economically viable and fastest growing secondary cities in the country. With just six of the 34 catalytic projects across the province, we are turning the tide towards a greater path in our vision to build a sustainable economic life for all”, said Gumede.
